What does the Rec & Culture board do?
We are primarily a funding board. The board consists of community members who volunteer their time to review and approve applications for Recreation and Culture events and activities that are designed to strengthen a sense of community, build stronger families and promote health.

Red Deer County Community Services Vision
Quality of life and community well-being are advanced through responsive, innovative, and collaborative policies, facilities, services, and programs that make Red Deer County a great place to live, work, and grow.
Red Deer County currently provides per capita funding to seven local Recreation and Culture Boards, to promote a wide range of recreation and culture services in rural areas. Each Division Recreation and Culture Board is provided with funding and is responsible for providing access to recreation and culture opportunities for residents within their Division.

WORLD WATER PARK DAY TRIP - JULY 21 REGISTER HERE
RESIDENT FEE: $45.00
NON-RESIDENT FEE: $55.00
Youth ages 10-17 are welcome to join us on a day trip to the World Water Park at West Edmonton Mall. This full day trip includes travel and admission to the World Water Park. Participants are required to bring their own funds for food or a packed lunch.

STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDING $25.00
This course introduces the novice to paddling a paddleboard in calm sheltered water. Including safety skills, paddling skills, and basic SUP knowledge. Course Costs include Stand Up Paddle Board, PFD and Paddle Rental and Instructional time. Participants will have free time to explore the area and work on their skills. These courses are offered through Red Deer County by Mountain Surf Co.

TANDEM CANOEING COURSES
$20.00
These canoe courses will introduce you to canoeing basics. Spend time learning about canoes, basic strokes and look ahead to the skills required for lake and river canoeing. Youth under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a responsible adult on lake days and under the age of 12 on river dates. All equipment (Paddles, PFD’s, Canoes, etc.) is included in the course fee.
