ABOUT us

What does the Rec & Culture board do?

We are primarily a funding board. The board consists of community members who volunteer their time to review and approve applications for Recreation and Culture events and activities that are designed to strengthen a sense of community, build stronger families and promote health.

Red Deer County Community Services Vision

Quality of life and community well-being are advanced through responsive, innovative, and collaborative policies, facilities, services, and programs that make Red Deer County a great place to live, work, and grow.

Red Deer County currently provides per capita funding to seven local Recreation and Culture Boards, to promote a wide range of recreation and culture services in rural areas. Each Division Recreation and Culture Board is provided with funding and is responsible for providing access to recreation and culture opportunities for residents within their Division.

YOUTH SPRING BREAK DAY TRIP

Red Deer County is once again partnering with the Flipside Youth Centre with the Town of Sylvan Lake and Delburne, Bowden, and Elnora FCSS! Join us, April 13, 2023 for a trip to the West Edmonton Mall World Water Park.
Cost: $50.00 (Subsidy is Available)

 

$15 FRIDAY SKI & SNOWBOARD NIGHTS

$15 Friday Ski & Snowboard Nights continue through till March 3, 2023. Please registration in required. Follow the link below to register for Winter Outdoor Recreation Programs. Red Deer County Residents are welcome to join us every Friday for skiing and/or snowboarding at Canyon Ski Resort.  County residents ski for over 50% off of a full price ticket. 

Tickets must be purchased through the Red Deer County website. 
Tickets will not be sold at Canyon Ski Resort.

DROP-IN FAMILY SWIMMING

Red Deer County Free Swimming is back! Join us for a FREE afternoon/evening of Swimming at the Innisfail Aquatics Centre & Sylvan Lake NexSource Centre. These drop in programs are open to anyone within the County, so come on out and meet your neighbors.  

 

FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - CLICK HERE

The Red Deer County Fee Assistance Program offers financial support for individuals who are currently facing financial barriers to accessing recreation and culture opportunities. The program provides up to $300.00 per individual per year to put towards the costs of eligible registration fees.
